Advise from London hearts

🌧When it comes to using a defibrillator in the rain, the answer is yes you can! Modern defibrillators are typically designed to withstand rainy conditions. However, here are some precautions to keep in mind:

Shield the Victim: Ensure the victim is protected from rain as much as possible while applying the defibrillator, dry them on the chest area before use!

Rescuer Safety: If feasible, find a dry place to use the defibrillator. If not, minimise exposure to rain and water.

Regular Inspection: After exposure to rain, check the defibrillator’s battery and electrodes for optimal operation.

Remember, timely defibrillation is crucial, even on rainy days! 💙
