Our heart hero's

It has been a year since we did our first 'bare your heart scar' calender.

Celebrating our heart hero's, sharing their amazing stories.

Now we can share their stories with you all.....

We will share each person's story, highlighting the importance of defibrillators and heart related research and technology, to help save lives, allowing families more time with loved ones.

First up is.....

Our very own Gilly Atkinson 💜

Gilly Atkinson.....

Gilly 53. a mother of three. Two boys, Liam & Bradley and a girl Laura, Gilly is a co-founder of the Defibrillator charity. She wears her ICD scar with pride after finding out she had ARVC from losing her beautiful daughter Laura to cardiac arrest in April 2021. She had to

have gene testing done from finding out Laura inherited the gene, which was found at Laura's post mortem. She also has heart failure.

Gilly is studying a degree in Psychology. and is currently in her 3rd year. She was part of fundraising for benches

in Laura's memory

after Laura passed away. Gilly raised her birthday money

in 2021 for BHF and really enjoys her charity work with Helen to help save

lives for the community in supplying life-saving devices across the Fylde coast. She doesn't allow this to deter her, and she also tries to

hide her grief whilst continuing to keep Laura's legacy alive. Gilly says "this one's for you baby girl." We all love and miss you always.
