Know the importance

Some people don't realise the importance of having defibrillators accessible to the public.

People think it's just medical professionals who can use them.

This is not true..... they are so simple to use and talk you through step by step.

Imagine.......

Walking down the street, you see someone across the road suddenly collapse, you run over and see they are unresponsive and not breathing.

What do you do?

🌟Do you just walk on by? Someone else will surely help, right?

🌟Do you ring 999 and follow their instructions on CPR?

🌟Do you support someone else to perform CPR and get the defibrillator?

🌟Do you try and help the casualty have the best chance of survival while awaiting medical assistance?

Sometimes, if you have not been in that situation or don't know anyone who has had a cardiac arrest, we can take these life-saving devices for granted and just see it as 'just another ornament', you may even see our posts and think 'bloody hell, not another rant about defibrillators'. However, unfortunately , we have both had experience in performing CPR and using a defibrillator to try and save a life or have close ones who have unfortunately suffered from a cardiac arrest.

Cardiac arrests are sudden. It is extremely hard to think that one day, a loved one may pass unexpectedly due to a cardiac arrest, and you were unable to say goodbye or that you love them. Our mission of getting as many public access defibrillators installed and raising awareness as well as also helping as many people/members of the public become aware and confident in basic life support (CPR and using a defibrillator), help a family as well as the casualty to hopefully get more time together to make memories, to tell them they love them etc.

This is our passion for helping others.

Please don't take our mission for granted, and just think it'll never happen to me. Please support us to help others 🙏

Laura West (Gilly's daughter) would have been 33 this year, and if a defibrillator was used, she may have still been here today.

Let's do it for her and all the loved ones we have lost. Give someone the best chance of survival by helping us get as many public access defibrillators around our local communities as we can.

Every second counts.

Many thanks
