Marcus Reeson

Marcus had to have an ICD fitted in March 2023. This had all been from something that started back in January 2022 when he had a heart attack caused by a full

blockage to one of his arteries. He spent a full week in hospital recovering. Marcus found out that he had severe heart failure and the medical team needed to get him on the right

medication fast, as his blood pressure was very low. From then on, he had Cardio Rehab, which he actuallv enioved.

His heart nurse kept persisting with medications to regulate his blood pressure. Marcus was sent home but had to go back for a check-up after a month, yet due to

scar tissue from the heart attack, there wasn't much improvement, and was informed by his consultant that he would require an ICD.

Marcus would require this very quickly. due to the possibility of going into a cardiac arrest

He is so pleased to have this device in place now, as this is his safety net. It has allowed him to get himself back into jogging and playing over 50's football, which

he states has helped him with his mindset. He previously had to stop doing the job he loved doing so much for 30 years, that was HGV driving. He had to stop due to his medical

condition but he found his new love for playing football and jogging. He also does some lightweights and a little bit of cycling, and is enjoying a bit of freedom on the

days where he feels he has some energy. Having heart fallure is a life changing condition, and even though we can have an ICD in place, heart failure is very tiring to live with
