❤️ heart hero's ❤️
Matt Consadine
Here we have, Matt. He had an aortic dissection. This was in 2017. He had been laying in bed
and felt a squeezing sensation in his chest, which radiated into his back. When he tried to get out of bed, his
left leg felt as though it was wrapped in lead. His wife rang 111, who then sent out an ambulance to Matt and took him to A&E. Upon arrival, he was told he was having muscle spasms in the muscles between the ribs. Nothing was showing up on the ECG or other tests. He hadn't suffered a heart attack, and everything felt reassured, but in the April, Matt visited the company doctor, and when he examined Matt, he heard a heart murmur. Matt was sent to the Cardiac Centre at BVH where he had an ultrasound, endoscopy and a CT scan, which uncovered Aortic Dissection. Luckily, Matt is here to tell the story and is one of our amazing defib guardians.
